You Need This Amazing Easy Twisted Updo Right Now

I discovered early in my natural hair journey that easy hairstyles are the way to go. Those hairstyles that you can do easily when you’re frustrated, in a rush or just want to chill at home are life savers.

For me, buns are my favorite all round natural hairstyles because they suit everything. I do them when I’m uninspired, frustrated, in a rush, don’t want to deal with my hair, want to chill, want to go out, want to kill haters with the volume of my hair, etc.

I also love updos but I’ve also discovered that updos with complex steps and tutorials should be avoided except when you have a lot of time on your hands. Hairstyle fails are real which is why I appreciate easy updo tutorials like this one I’m sharing from The beauty department that we can all do.

Tools you’ll need:

An elastic band and Bobby pins.

Steps:

1) Make a right part on your hair.

2) Divide the front section of the right side and do two twists.

3) Grab some hair from the back and put into a low bun with the elastic band and a bobby pin.

4) Pin the two twists to the bun.

Moving on to the left side of your hair you left out

5) Divide the front section you left out into two and twist one up.

6) Pin it back to the bun.

7) Twist up the remaining section at the front and also pin it back to the bun.

Go forth and slay queens!

  1. Hi Mimi, I have natural hair myself ( well my hair in it’s natural state) and I often find my arms tired and an utter lack of patience when doing anything hair related. That being said, I do like buns a lot; simple and put together. The hairstyle that you shared here looks simply nice though ~

    1. I’m so glad you can relate! Having natural hair isn’t the easiest thing in the world and lack of patience happens to me a lot too. I’m happy you love buns too. Do let me know if you ever try out this hairstyle, I can’t guarantee that you’ll prefer it to buns though 😊. For me, buns still reign supreme.
