Today is a wonderful day on the blog. We have a guest! Her name is Krissy, and she’s also a teen natural hair blogger and hair guru who is embarking on her natural hair journey and writing about the challenges that she faces along the way.
Her blog is The natural hair teen and her post is on aloe vera for hair care.
Aloe Vera has been used in herbal medicine since the early first century A.D.
Aloe vera extracts are widely used in the cosmetic and
alternative medicine industries, marketed as having rejuvenating, healing, and soothing properties whether it’s the juice or the gel, which is slightly thicker.
Aloe Vera is made up of
many different great ingredients such as;
- Amino acids:
Strengthen the hair and give it luster.
Break down dead skin cells on the scalp that might be blocking the hair follicle and not allowing nutrients to properly penetrate the hair.
- Fatty Acids:
Strengthen hair and treats itchy scalp.
Increases the penetrative effect of other compounds into the scalp.
– Polysaccharides (sugar):
to the hair.
Strengthens the hair.
Add body and sheen, and makes hair feel thicker, silky and smooth.
- Vitamins and Minerals:
Beneficial for general
hair and scalp health.
Aloe Vera also acts as a humectant, meaning that it attracts and retains
moisture from the air via absorption.
The continuation and part two of this post is on The natural hair teen . Do check it out. Have a great day!
Thank you very much Krissy 😘.
I’ve already read the second part where she included extracting the gel from the plant and how to use it for softer hair so I recommend you reading it too.

Have you ever used aloe vera or any of aloe vera product on your hair? How did you use it?
